Temple of Dreams by Carolyn Mathews

Sebastian feels drawn to enrol at a college of natural medicine, which has a sanctuary modelled on an ancient Greek healing centre. Once he spends time in the temple he has strange and mysterious dreams of Apollos, a young Athenian. Seb is able to see, feel and experience these dreams as if he is really there. In order to help him understand his dreams his college lecturer Sybil is at hand to help him decipher what the dreams could mean. Meanwhile his friends try to help unlock the mysteries occurring in his present life.

I found this book really fast-paced and engaging from the start. I really wanted to see how the character and storyline developed over the pages. There is a spiritual side to this story as well as adventure, mystery and romance. I have enjoyed reading all of Carolyn Mathews books and I highly recommend them all.

Pandora's Gift (Pandora series #3) By Carolyn Mathews

In the third book of the Pandora series, it is a life changing series of events that lead to the unknown and unexpected. The great thing about the Pandora series of books is that the story is like a blend of genres all mixed together to make the perfect story. This is a story where anything can happen… Anything is possible. The series of books are intriguing, you just never know what will happen next. The clever way the author does not stick to one genre too gives her more scope to let her imagination run wild and enchants the reader into an encaptivating read that will grab the readers attention from beginning to the end. The brilliant balance of romance and chick-lit meeting the paranormal and mystique makes this and the two other books in the Pandora series unmissable.

Squaring Circles by Carolyn Mathews

Following on from Transforming Pandora, we catch up with Pandora Armstrong, now happily married to Jay, she is shocked by the sudden death of her mother and finding out she has a secret half brother called Theo who was brought up across the Atlantic.

When her mothers grave is disturbed and broken into not long after the burial. Pandora decides to investigate to find out what happened. She discovers her mother belonged to a mysterious group called the Isis circle. What exactly went on at those meetings? Pandora is keen to find out and see if it holds the key to explain why anyone would go to extreme circumstances of breaking into a grave.

I like this book because it covers a lot of genres. There is a little bit of everything in the story, romance, crime, mystery, fantasy and just a little touch of the paranormal all go into the mix to create a wonderfully told story. There is a great cast of characters who bring the story to life and you can almost feel the words breathe off the page as you read. I do recommend that you read the first book Transforming Pandora before you read this book, there are a lot of characters and it is easier to know who everyone is, if you have the background from the first book.

Transforming Pandora by Carolyn Mathews

Finding it hard to come to terms with her husband’s sudden death, Pandora visits a spiritual church where she is given a message encouraging her to meditate. Pandora finds that during meditation she can communicate with a wise old spirit, and with spirit awakening in her, she reflects back on her life in the past, to lead her to move forward with her life in the present.

This is just one of those really beautiful, touching and delightful stories, that draws you in from the very beginning and keep you enchanted until the very end. Pandora is a fifty-one year old woman, who is at a crossroad in her life, and she gets guidance from a divine being. However what is wonderful about this book is that the spiritual side is only touched on very briefly, allowing the plot to flow around Pandora’s life, telling a remarkable tale about life and love.
