Julia’s Violinist by Anneli Purchase

Julia’s Violinist is a remarkable moving story that covers four decades of the life of Julia. When her life is left shattered after World War II, widower Julia must fight to survive to take care of her two young children.

Thinking she has found happiness when a new man comes into her life, she settles down with him. Julia soon finds out that it is far from the happy life she shared with her first husband.

Julia’s world is once again turned upside down when her first love Michael gets in touch with her and difficult decisions will have to be made.

Will Julia find the happiness she deserves?

This is a very touching tale about love. It is about two people who deserve to be together and to be happy, forever been kept apart by life and the timing never been right. A wonderful written story and a good emotional read that keeps the reader gripped from beginning to end.

  4. I did order Julia’s Violinist from Amazon a few months ago and enjoyed it so much I am about to read it once again after it is returned from.."on loan" to friends.
Anneli portrays all of her characters in debth and I did feel that I was getting to know each one....especially dear Julia.
Afternoon tea and plum cake with Julia would have been a royal treat..
Thanks Anneli for a glimpse into Julia's journey.

  10. Lovely review Nicky. I also read this book some time ago, and am ready to read it again. The characters in this book really came to life, and kept me wanting to learn more about them with every turn of the page. While reading this novel, I thought to myself that I would just sit for an hour or so and read. Well, I had to read it cover to cover and couldn't put it down. Anneli has a real winner in this novel (even more so than the others) and I would love to see this as a film in the future! Wonderfully romantic, full of twists and turns. Loved it!
