You Had Me at Hello by Mhairi McFarlane

Rachel Woodford has been in a long-term relationship with boyfriend Rhys for the past thirteen years and they plan to marry. Then when Rachel bumps into Ben a close friend of hers from university who she has not seen for the last ten years, Rachel’s feelings and emotions begin to stir and with Ben now married, can Rachel accept that Ben was the one who had got away  and that there will be no second chance?

A really good story, that takes the reader through a rollercoaster of emotions. I found the story a very moving and touching and original love story about being in love with someone and the timing never being quite right and circumstances keeping the two leading characters apart.  I really like the humour in this book too there are some great lines that made me laugh out loud.

Mhairi McFarlane was born in Scotland in 1976 and has been explaining how to pronounce her name ever since. It’s ‘Vah-Ree’, but mishear and call her Rory, Barry or Moira if you want.

When Mhairi’s not working on novels she does freelance writing and blogging, which we all know is code for messing about on Twitter. She lives with a man and a cat.
